What amazes me with this thread is that the "resident technician" was at first unavailable and then seems to be "working on it," but no confirmation of that. ![]() ![]() Finally made out on the blue screen that mfeaack.sys is the culprit (so definitely McAfee). Worked for a few hours, then continued BSOD, which only flickers on my screen for an instance before futile self-rebooting. Checked memory and uninstalled, installed McAfee. Tried system restore, would not work, likely held up by "antivirus program." Suspended antivirus and still could not restore. Looking at dump files showed error always with sntoskrnl.exe, which suggests either memory problem or antivirus. I have spent many hours investigating (as I am not a computer expert) and determining that the latest McAfee update made my computer unusable with BSOD every minute. ![]()
